[Ryan hadn't planned on taking one of the escaped Ditto home. He doesn't know all about it, but he's heard bits and pieces from Min-Gi and knows that the whole thing is stressing him out the way that many Rocket-related things do. It's more like...the universe inflicted a ditto on him while he was shopping, and now he has a little guy that looks like him if he looked more like a toddler.
It takes him an extra second to open the door with his arms full of grocery bags, and once he's in he pushes it shut with his foot.]
Min-Gi? Are you home~?
[Ryan only gives him about 30 seconds to respond, and when he doesn't immediately come into the room Ryan sets down his bags on the counter.]
Alright - coast is clear, little dude.
[The ditto peeks over the side of the bag and pushes it over, before gooping off the counter head-first and bouncing onto its feet like a goopy slinky boy. Once it's settled on its feet the resemblance is pretty clear - it's perfected Ryan's messy hair in a globby sort of way, but the glasses are a little too round. It still gives Ryan a big lined smile that makes his heart flutter.
It isn't that he's planning on hiding the ditto from Min, not really. He just knows Min might, you know. Need an extra minute to process before he agrees they can't just let the little guy wander off. Or at least, that's what he's hoping.]
Min-Gi himself is locked away in their studio, headphones on and pretending he doesn't have Team Rocket business he should probably at least be acting like he's trying to help with. North's been bugging him into patrolling for any errant Dittos most mornings, but today he's stood his ground, insisting he needs time to work on his part of a song he's been unhappy with no matter what he's tried while Ryan is out.
As a result their apartment is quieter than it normally would be if he was still home, with all but a few of their calmer Pokémon stowed away in their balls to make sure he doesn't have any distractions. Fortunately for Ryan and his new friend, North is not one of these lucky few, but another of his Rocket team is, skulking silently in the shadows of the kitchen as it observes the scene.]
dusts off this inbox with ditto like one of those goopy keyboard cleaners
